On Saturday, Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, launched three new features for Boomerang Stories: SlowMo, Echo, and Duo, along with a few new features to trim their length.
“Your Instagram camera gives you ways to express yourself and easily share what you’re doing, thinking or feeling with your friends. Boomerang is an iconic part of that, and one of the most beloved camera formats. Instagram is excited to expand on the creativity and give you new ways to use Boomerang to turn everyday moments into something fun and unexpected,” the company said in a statement.
The new filters are available in the Instagram Stories camera, located in the Boomerang composer. Boomerang videos are reduced to half their original velocity with SlowMo as the name suggests. Echo produces a double vision effect, raising Boomerang and Duo, both speeding and slowing Boomerang down, creating a textured effect.
With the update, you can also trim and adjust the length of recorded Boomerangs. The new effects come as an update to Over – the-air (OTA).
Take a Boomerang as usual to access these new effects, open the Story camera, swipe the carousel over to “Boomerang,” then tap or hold the shutter button and let go. Next tap the symbol of infinity along the top of the display to access the new effects.
Recently, Instagram launched a new “Layout” feature which will enable users to include multiple photos in one story. Users can now create their Stories with up to six different photos, even though this new feature is already on third-party apps to create similar images.
Just open the Stories camera inside Instagram and search for “Style” to start the photos combined. When done, just like any other publish the Story.
