Mi TV 5, Mi TV 5 Pro Launched

As the new Xiaomi smart TV models, Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro are official. The updated Mi TV models will be available in55-inch,65-inch, and 75-inch screen sizes as part of the company’s brand launch in Beijing earlier today. Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro models share a number of features and specifications, but the main differences between the two models are the lack of Quantum Dot display, MEMC motion smoothening technology, and non-Pro HDR 10+.

Mi TV 5, Mi TV 5 Pro Price

According to Xiaomi, the Mi TV 5 Pro will bear a price tag of CNY 3,699 (around Rs. 37,200) for the 55-inch version, while CNY 4,999 (around Rs. 50,300) will retail the 65-inch smart TV model. The Mi TV 5 Pro’s 75-inch model was priced at CNY 9,999 (approximately Rs. 100,500). On the other hand, Mi TV 5 will retail the 55-inch model at CNY 2,999 (around Rs. 30,200), the 65-inch model at CNY 3,999 (around Rs. 40,200) and the 75-inch model at CNY 7,999 (around Rs. 80,400).

Xiaomi says Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro’s 55-inch and 65-inch models will go on sale in China starting November 11, though pre-bookings will be open later today. There’s no word out of China right now about publication.

Mi TV 5, Mi TV 5 Pro Features

All Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro feature an aluminum frame in terms of design and come with a screw-less design. The company reports that both TVs are only 5.9 mm thick and the bezels are 47.1 percent smaller than the Mi TV 4 series at just 1.8 mm.

The Mi TV 5 Pro features an OLED Quantum Dot screen with 4 K (3,840×2,160 pixels) capable of achieving up to 108% NTSC color gamut, HDR10 + support, and MEMC technology. On the other hand, Mi TV 5’s 4 K (3,840×2,160 pixels) display can reach an NTSC color gamut of up to 85 percent and does not include MEMC or HDR10 + support.

In other features, Amlogic T972 SoC, PatchWall user interface and 8 K video playback support both Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro. The TVs do come with 802.11ac Wi-Fi, three HDMI ports, two USB ports, AV outputs, Bluetooth 4.2, four microphones, two four-unit speakers of 8W, and Xiaomi voice assistant aid.

Finally, the Mi TV 5 has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB on-board storage, while Mi TV 5 Pro has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB onboard storage.
