Redmi Note 8 Pro is set to be launched today in India. The phone has already been unveiled in China with a Helio G90 T SoC, a quad camera setup with a 64-megapixel main sensor, a 4,500mAh battery, and a front sensor with 20 megapixels. The launch date of Redmi Note 8 India remains a mystery, and Xiaomi should shed some light on today’s launch event. The launch event of Redmi Note 8 Pro India will start at 12 noon IST, and the phone will be teased alongside Mi.com on Amazon India. Xiaomi is also expected to launch the MIUI 11 Global ROM at the event.

If we were to guess, the Redmi Note 8 Pro for its base model with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of onboard storage should be priced close to China’s pricing range starting at CNY 1,399 (around Rs. 14,000). The versions 6 GB + 128 GB and 8 GB + 128 GB are priced respectively at CNY 1,599 (approximately Rs. 16,000) and CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs. 18,000).
Redmi Note 8 Pro Specifications
The phone sees a dramatic change in design from its predecessor Redmi Note 7 Pro 11,970 which put dual rear cameras on the back panel’s top left. On the other side, the Redmi Note 8 Pro has a vertically aligned quad-back camera setup installed at the top center. The fourth sensor is located below the flash and underneath the other three cameras is the fingerprint sensor.
The dual-SIM Redmi Note 8 Pro runs on MIUI 10 based on Android Pie, packs a 6.53-inch full-HD+ screen (1080×2340 pixels) and is powered by MediaTek’s new gaming-focused MediaTek Helio G90 T SoC, coupled with up to 8 GB of RAM.
Xiaomi has also introduced smartphone liquid cooling support to improve the Redmi Note 8 Pro users ‘ gaming experience. The Game Turbo 2.0 mode includes other gaming-centric features on the phone.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro is the first phone of the business with a main camera of 64 megapixels. The main shooter is accompanied by the same camera setup as the wide-angle shooter Redmi Note 8 – 8-megapixel and two 2-megapixel lenses. A 20-megapixel selfie camera is on deck on the front.
It packs a battery of 4,500mAh with support for fast 18W charging, NFC, USB Type-C port, 3.5 mm audio jack, IR blaster. The smartphone Redmi Note 8 Pro is also rated as IP52.
