Sony Xperia 1 II, Xperia 10 II, Xperia Pro Launched

The company launched Sony Xperia 1 II as the first 5 G flagship. The new smartphone comes with top-of-the-line specs such as on-board storage with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC and 256 GB. The Xperia 1 II (read Xperia One Mark Two) also features a CinemaWide display that is an improvement to what we had last year on the Xperia 1.

Sony has co-developed the Xperia 1 II camera with the engineers of its Alpha 9 series cameras, to please photography-focused users. Sony has launched the Xperia 10 II as its new mid-range handset, in addition to the new flagship. The firm has also introduced the Xperia Pro to professional photographers as a 5 G phone.

The Sony Xperia 1 II pricing specifics have yet to be announced. Nonetheless, the smartphone will go on sale in Europe starting late spring this year in Black and Purple colour options. As with the Xperia 1 II, Sony has not yet released the Sony Xperia 10 II pricing details. Nonetheless, this year’s smartphone is set to go on sale in select markets with Black and White colour options in Fall.

Information is not yet known about whether the Xperia Pro will be available to the masses or just as a design. It is safe to expect that the firm would initially provide it for testing purposes only. There’s no word about the price in India right now or release information.

Sony has offered the Xperia 1 II Cinema Pro app which is co-developed with the divisions ChinaAlta and Alpha to provide a list of photography-centric features. Touch focusing support is also available. The Sony Xperia 1 II sports an8-megapixel selfie camera for selfies along with an f/2.0 lens that has an 84-degree field of view (FoV).

The Sony Xperia 1 II packs 256 GB of expandable UFS storage via microSD card (up to 1 TB). Options for connectivity provide 5 G (sub6 bands), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS / A-GPS, NFC, Type-C USB port, and 3.5 mm audio jack. The phone is also water and dust resistant IP65/IP68 certified, and it sports an in-display fingerprint scanner. It also has the assistance of front-firing stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Audio, and is fitted with 360 Reality Audio.

Sony has provided direct link support for DualShock 4, as well as a Game Enhancer feature for mobile gamers. The Xperia 1 II packs a 4,000mAh battery which supports wireless charging. It is also bundled with a fast charger with a USB PD. The handset also measures 166x72x7.9 mm and weighs approximately 181 grammes.

So, Sony has launched the Xperia Pro, alongside the Xperia 1 II and Xperia 10 II, as a 5 G underdevelopment tool designed specifically for broadcasting video cameras. Also, the device comes with an HDMI input allowing users to use it conveniently as a camera display. Thus, in comparison, it has the display and camera configuration similar to Xperia 1 II.
